Stabilizer longer than 12”
The age groups for the above classifications will be as
follows:
Tyke boy and girl (8 & under)
Cub boy and girl (9-12)
Junior male and female (13-17)
Adults (18 & up)
1. While drawing your bow, the arrow must not be pointed
higher than the target you are shooting at.
2. All persons must be behind the shooter while they
shoot.
3. Use of broad heads only on broad head league. Persons
of hunting age only may shoot.
4. Field or bullet tips only on the 3D league. No tips
shall have a diameter of 1/16th of an inch larger than
the arrow shaft unless specifically designed for use in
3d targets.
5. The use of a range finder of any type is not allowed.
6. No crossbows, bow arms, advantage bows or laser
sights allowed.
7. Exceptions to accommodate senior citizen and special
needs shooters can be made with the approval of the
Rules committee. The rules committee must approve all
questionable equipment.
8. All shooters must follow all instructions posted on
the course.
9. Do not remove or break any obstruction in line with
the target.
10. A shooter must touch the stake while shooting,
except from the elevated platforms, sit shots and kneel
shots unless other instructions are given. A sit shot
that’s on a chain can be moved the length of the chain
in any direction. A kneel shot must be shot while
kneeling on the pad. The pad may be rotated in any
direction. Winter league shots are made from a position
adjacent to the target plate or placard.
11. Do not alter or remove any stakes or targets.
12. No practice on the course before a shooter has shot
the course for a score.
13. If an arrow bounces out of the target or it passes
through to a point that the hit spot can’t be determined
the shooter has the option to shoot again or let the
majority watching the hit rule on what to score that
target.
14. Walking up to target to identify kill zone is
prohibited.
15. No walking up on a target before all archers have
finished shooting. A group of shooters can watch the
running animal go by once before anyone shoots, making
sure it is functioning properly.
16. One shot per target. A second shot is only permitted
for a complete miss of the target or mechanical failure
(I.E, broken knock). The second arrow counts for half of
the points for the hit scored.
17. The arrow shaft or broadhead blade must touch the
line: tears do not count for achieving the higher score.
18. Scoring on the initial arrow is as follows: 20 =
heart / best kill area, 16 = lung and liver area, any
body shot outside the vitals = 4 this includes the head,
tail and legs.
19. Any decision on the scoring at a target must be
decided by a majority present at the target or ruled on
by the rules committee.
20. Each score on a target shall be written in the
proper place on the scorecard as to the correct target
number. No one may shoot the course in reverse order.
21. All shooting must be completed on the scheduled
league day, no make-ups. If absent, handicapped league
shooter average plus handicap minus ten points will be
used for their score. Exceptions made with registration
or rules committee approval (equipment failure,
sickness, and emergency or severe weather conditions).
Shooter would then be given their average plus handicap
(if applicable) for score.
22. Failure to turn in your scorecard will result in a
zero for that weeks score.
23. Any changes in class must be reported to
registration and a new handicap must be used.
24. Any target or shot including the running animal you
feel is not safe, skip it and shoot it later after the
problem has been corrected or verified by registration
to be OK to shoot.
25. Make sure where shooters have to walk on lanes
behind a target to get to the next shot, that it’s clear
before anyone shoots. After reaching the safe area the
last person should yell back that it’s clear.
26. If a shooter is behind a target looking for a stray
arrow they must leave his/her bows against the target to
let anyone else on the course know that the target is
not currently safe to shoot. If more than one person is
in the group one person must stay out in front of the
target.
27. When shooting in a group it is the shooters
responsibility to mark their broadheads so it can be
determined which shooter made which hole in the target
for scoring (broadhead league only).
28. After shooting and scoring arrows make sure that all
holes and cuts in the target are taped for the next
shooter (broadhead league only).
29. A shooter must shoot at least 60% of the scheduled
shooting dates in the same class to be eligible for a
trophy. A shooter must be paid in full for league dues.
30. The handicapped system to be used will be included
in the league agenda.
31. A telescoped arrow will be scored the value that the
arrow it has telescoped lies in.
32. Any shooter breaking the rules will be subject to
action by the rules committee.
If at all possible, leagues should be shot in a group
of 2 or more people. Groups greater than 4 should allow
smaller or faster groups to shoot through.
No shooting of live animals on the outdoor courses.
