A letter from D. Matice

This year we will again offer SVAA results by email for those of you who do not wish to receive ribbons. Please email me at – dmatice@voyager.net to sign-up for this service. We will be looking into getting a website for SVAA and results will then only be posted on the site for each shoot. Also if you have any questions about SVAA please do not hesitate to call me at 989-224-4585 or email dmatice@voyager.net

The SVAA will allow anyone to shoot for awards as long as the shooter has a current membership card from a currently affiliated club of SVAA.

REMEMBER to shoot in the Michigan Archers Ass’n (MAA) championships you MUST be a member of both the MAA & NFAA , be able to show a current membership card from a currently affiliated club of SVAA and have your MAA and/or NFAA membership card. All others will shoot as guests at the MAA championships and not be eligible for awards.

TEAM COMPETITION will still be the same, the best placing per club in FS, FSL BB divisions. First is 3 points, second is 2 points. And third is 1 point. Any club (must have at least one shooter turn in a complete score) who does not receive any points. Will earn 1 point for their club for having a team present. To qualify, as a point earning class, a class must have at least three shooters from two different clubs.

TO QUALIFY for the SVAA Championship, a shooter must shoot and turn in 2 scores in any one shooting style….(FS-FSL-BB-BBtrad-BHFS-BHFSL-BHBB-IBO-SRFS-SRFSL-SRBB-SRBHFS-SRBHFSL-SRBHBB- or any youth class) YOUTH for a 1 year trial SVAA will offer both Bowhunter and Open divisions for the youth classes.(Please note that MAA does NOT offer Bowhunter division for youth classes)

SVAA will break down their youth classes as PeeWee (9 yrs & under), Cadet (10-11 yrs), Junior (12-14 yrs). & Intermediate (15-17 yrs) Please note MAA only recognizes 3 youth divisions.

YOU MAY shoot as many times as you wish at any one SVAA shoot but only the FIRST SCORE COUNTS in each division/style. And only the first score will go toward awards and team competition. All other scores in the same style will be treated as guest scores.

SVAA will offer MENS & Womens IBO Bowhunter classes. Make sure to circle IBO is circled on your scorecard. Equipment is a bow, any sight, and arrows. (5 grain arrow weight per pound of bow shot)

SVAA will have a Senior Division for all styles and classes. These classes will be offered to all shooters 50 years and older. These classes will be eligible for awards and for team competition as long as they meet class requirements. (Check team competition requirements above) PLEASE note that MAA’s Senior Divisions are for shooters 55 years & older

SVAA will return to having only one traditional class with no class AA or A breakdowns. There is still no outserts and no wood arrows allowed.

SVAA will still offer Pro classes but the classes will no longer be broke down by gender.

SVAA shoots will have 2 shooting lines for each shoot time unless, with smaller number of archers, one line can be formed at the discretion of the archers on the line. Archers should tell the registration person when entering what they prefer – 1 or 2 lines. (Club registration persons WILL mark the shooting style of EACH shooter on BOTH scorecards before the shoot begins)
